Our Upcoming Events

ARDBRAE AGM, DINNER AND DANCE

Don’t shy away from this last social occasion of our dancing year because of the AGM meeting: we keep it short and to the point because we would all rather dance than talk business. A potluck meal, always a huge success thanks to your contributions, begins the evening.


Date: Saturday, May 3, 2025 

Location: Parkdale United Church Hall

Time: 5:30 (dinner at 6:00) – 10:00 p.m.

WELCOME DANCE

To begin the new dancing season, we have an introductory evening especially designed for newcomers to experience some simple dancing and become acquainted with our friendly group. So, encourage any adults you know (family members/friends/co-workers) who might enjoy dancing to come along and try it out. Remember to tell them that the first 3 classes are FREE for beginners.

OCTOBER SOCIAL

We usually enjoy a Tea Dance on the last Sunday of October. Details will be available in June 2025.

CHRISTMAS SOCIAL

Potluck finger food and the Silent Auction add to the festive atmosphere of our Christmas Social. Be prepared to bid on a variety of donated items and baked goods: you never know what treasures or delicious treats you may bring home.

You are invited to attend a potluck dinner and gathering hosted by Deborah; a post-Christmas gathering with friends. Bring your favourite dish to share, and your appetite. I hope you can join us for a fun evening.

ARDBRAE BALL 2026

The highlight of the dancing year is our formal Ball held in Scotton Hall in the Glebe Community Centre. The Atlantic Firth SCD Band will again provide lively music for a special evening of dancing.

Sunday Mini-workshop Sessions

The Ottawa Branch and The Ardbrae Dancers of Ottawa are excited to present a special series of Sunday afternoon Scottish Country Dance Mini-Workshops, featuring talented instructors from each group!  This workshop series promises to deepen your dance knowledge, enhance your technique, and explore unique themes that complement and expand upon the traditional Scottish Country Dance curriculum.  


April 27 is a beginner friendly dance, bring a curious friend or family member if you like, no age barriers.
