About Emily Porter
Coming from a family of Scottish Country dancers, Emily has been dancing since she was a child. She grew up attending the Newtonbrook children’s class in Toronto under the instruction of Betty Thompson. Upon moving to Ottawa, Emily was active with both the Ardbrae Dancers of Ottawa and the RSCDS Ottawa Branch and performed on their demonstration team. Emily obtained her Level I teaching certificate in St Andrews in 2023 and, besides teaching with Ardbrae, also teaches the Ottawa Branch’s level 2/3 class.
